New Tyranid Rumors

GW Stores should be receiving their pre-release copies of the new sprues next week. Unfortunately due to a rather significant printing error, the first run of the new codex had to be re-done.

The result is that GW Store and retailers should be receiving their pre-release codicies later than usual, most likely early January. We will of course have all of the spoilers up as soon as we hear anything.

Here is the latest Tyranid info via Warseer (with cleaned up grammar and my comments in square brackets):

Hormagaunts: Improved Initiative. Point costs halved. [A necessary change to bring them in line with the other races assault troops]
Gaunts: Nothing new there. [There are some rumors of "without number" included in the base points cost.

Gargoyles: A poisoned attack that excactly works as the Warhammer Fantasy Poisoned attacks rule work: Each roll of 6 to hit always wounds. Armour saves applied normally. Poison glands available. Point cost halved.

Raveners: Plastic kits of three with lots of options for thorax weapons.

Tyranid Warriors: Improved armour saves, 3 wounds each. Core unit. You still may have Tyrant Warrior Alphas as HQ choices. [I like the move to the Troops slot as there is simply too much competition for HQ/Elites slots without a major points reduction or a new battlefield role like anti-armor]

Lictor: 3 for one FOC slot, no 0-1 Limit. 3 wounds. [Love it, hopefully the fantastic Lictor will be more common on the table top again]

Lictor Death Leaper: In the list. WS9, I 7, Rending on 5+. [lol @ weapon skill 9 - "I know Kung Fu"]

Old One Eye: In the list.

Red Terror: NOT in the list.

Hive Tyrand: The major HQ choice again.

Hive Guard: Harpoon Cannon does not need LOS. Longe Range weapon.
From a different angle, they really do NOT look like Centaurs at all. They just lean on their middle limbs to balance, but they really do not 2 pairs of legs.

Genestealers: Point costs dropped. No info if they are core or elite.
Broodlord: Upgrade to all Genestealer squads. Psychic powers. [Another great little upgrade. Hopefully the psychic powers enhance the unit or change its role - i.e. light infiltrators, shock troops, etc.]

Venomthrope: poisened Attacks that wound on 2+. Grants 5+ cover save to all models within 6 inches. [Big Mek on a cannon?]

Pyrovore: Melee Monster with flaming template weapon.

Zoanthrope: Apperantly no 0-1 choice any more.

Carnifexes: Squads of up to 3. Increased ballistic skills. [Looks like the staple Nidzilla list is here to stay. This should be a much bigger boost for Nids then it was for IG Russes, as there is no downside from the vehicle squadron rules and tons of nasty stuff you can do with squad cover saves and wound allocation.]

Trygon: He’s there. Monstrous Creature. [Can't wait for more info on this beastie]

Mawloc: He’s there too.

Expect some new weapon symbionts.

According to others on Warseer, if the Trigon pops up under a unit, it counts as assulting it, and if it's brother the Mawloc does the same, they take S6 AP2 hits, and are pushed out of the way as the Mawloc comes up.
    Either way, Me wants.
